About Us

Launched out of a basement studio in 2004, Real Estate eCards was born of a purely creative challenge: elevate the holiday eCard to new heights.

There were two rules. They had to be clever. And they had to be real-estate relevant.

The audience for this unique product was preordained: enterprising real estate agents in search of compelling, modern marketing tools. They recognized that they were facing a new breed of homebuyer, a rapidly emergent, Internet-savvy group of people looking for houses online. And these farsighted agents wanted to capture — and keep — the attention of this brand new market.

Founder August Gilges discovered the formula. To be successful, the product needed to be artistic, clever, entertaining, even edgy. And engage the audience emotionally in a way that new technology was just making possible. All the while leaving its cartoony eCard predecessors in the dust.

One by one, custom-created holiday eCards took real estate agents — and their clients — by storm. In the word-of-mouth real estate industry, news traveled fast. They became a hot commodity.

As they found their niche, an even newer need was identified. Revitalize — even reinvent listings eCards using the same model. Evolve online real estate marketing beyond the tired, sluggish, antiseptic virtual tour. Sell a home by engaging the buyer emotionally, in a way they'd never been marketed to before.

The wave swept the Portland real estate market. And beyond, to Washington and California, growing exponentially. Not only were agents strengthening contacts with clients, they were also selling homes and getting new listings faster.

Today Real Estate eCards has changed the way realtors think about real estate marketing. Clients are applauding, asking when they're getting their next eCard. And there's a surprising new twist on conventional marketing brought about by this phenomenon: now clients are coming to the agent begging for more marketing materials.
