August Gilges, Founder, Creative Director
August's interest in telling visual stories through animation has followed him since childhood. His dream job, he imagined as a kid, would be sitting in a dark room editing movies. The dream moved closer to reality with his first video camera in high school, and pursuits turned serious. August studied video editing and production in college and confronted the new world of the Internet through motion graphic animation upon graduation. The unlimited reach of the medium captivated him - and has ever since as he continues to work at the forefront of emerging technology to express creativity through storytelling. In every project, August aims to engage his audience on a multitude of levels, in a way that's elegant and edgy, professional and original. As founder of ZingDing, he finds respite from creative intensity in hanging out with his kids and a daily dose of competitive basketball.
George Hale, President
George Hale is a lifelong learner and avid reader — qualities he believes are essential to staying competitive in business. "You can always learn from the best of the best," he says. In 1997, he launched the Portland, Oregon, real estate development company Generation Development. He's grown his businesses so successfully by relying on one essential business philosophy: hire good people and give them the tools and the freedom to do the best job they can. His firm is behind many successful condominiums, rowhouse subdivisions, and commercial projects — all built with high standards, attention to detail, and attractive design. As president of the recently renamed George Hale Development, George continues to purchase, plan, develop, and sell properties in the greater Portland area; he's also excited about his recent expansion to Central Oregon for WoodHill Homes. Offline, George enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
Daniel Warner, Chief Technical Officer
Daniel's early years in computing revolved around the Commodore 64 and working on his Compuserve BBS in Portland, a roundtable for C-64 game hackers. In 1994, when a friend tipped him off on the inception of Netscape, Daniel landed early-Internet jobs in electronic design automation and telecommunications. Most recently, since 1999, Daniel had been CTO for White Horse, a leading interactive agency where he was responsible for the development of columbia.com, mountainhardwear.com, and many other sites. These days Daniel maintains an allegiance to his favorite technologies in Open Source development, Linux, Apple and Adobe, and a fundamental user-centered design approach. When Daniel is not doing web development, he is spending time with his family and competing in triathlons throughout the Pacific Northwest.
